This is a community gathering to honor the people we’ve loved and lost\, and everyone is welcome to take part. \nWe’re inviting folks to build their own altars in the park—bring photos\, keepsakes\, flowers\, favorite foods\, or anything that speaks to the life of someone you’re remembering. The park will fill up with color: traditional Día de los Muertos displays\, marigolds\, butterflies\, music\, and art\, creating a space that’s part reflection\, part celebration. \nWe’ll have a small supply of apples and oranges on hand too\, so people can add them to altars as an offering—a traditional gesture meant to nourish loved ones on their journey. \nA Few Things to Keep in Mind\nThis event is put together independently by community volunteers\, so please note that nobody involved with organizing it can be responsible for altars or personal items left in the park overnight or unattended. If you’re bringing something irreplaceable\, plan to take it home each evening — and if you can\, bring copies of photos rather than originals\, just in case. \nWhether Día de los Muertos has been part of your life for decades or you’re curious and coming for the first time\, you’re welcome here. SUMMARY:Eureka Springs New Years Celebration: A Bash with a Splash
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate New Year’s Eve in downtown Eureka Springs with a full evening of music\, entertainment\, and the annual Water Drop countdown. The night begins with a carnival-style parade at 8:30pm as it moves through the center of town. Live music continues with Jenna and The Soul Shakers at 9pm\, followed by Fossils of Ancient Robots at 11pm and a laser light show to close out the year. FloZark Fire Twirlers perform at 9:45pm\, and MelonLight adds a surprise flash mob at 10:30pm. \nVisitors can stop into local shops to warm up or enjoy an open cocktail from participating entertainment district sponsors. As midnight approaches\, everyone gathers in Basin Spring Park for the Water Drop\, a signature Eureka Springs tradition where a glowing water droplet descends into the Ozarka Water Bucket to welcome the new year. It remains one of the most distinctive New Year’s Eve celebrations in Northwest Arkansas.
