The Little Golden Gate Bridge
The historic Beaver Bridge, often referred to as the “Little Golden Gate” of Arkansas, spans the White River and is the last of its kind in the state. This suspension bridge, built in 1949, stretches 554 feet in length and is only 11 feet wide. Due to its narrow width, traffic can only move in one direction at a time.
Located in the tiny town of Beaver, Arkansas, which has fewer than 100 residents, the bridge is an iconic part of the Ozarks’ rich history and mystery. The town’s small size adds to its charm, and aside from the bridge, Beaver also boasts a quaint waterfront park with 33 RV spaces, making it a unique and scenic destination in the rolling mountains.
