Downtown Eureka Springs Museum presents the History of Eureka Springs
Inside, the museum offers a rich, two-floor, self-guided journey through local history. On the first floor, permanent and rotating exhibits present everything from Native American heritage and the town’s founding around healing springs, to the rise of the Victorian health resort with its tent city, major fires, and early tourism. Highlights include “The City That Water Built,” “Early Travel & The Auto Age,” and the engaging “SIGNS” exhibit showcasing vintage signage and commercial waymarkers.
The second floor features more specialized displays: the historic Crescent Hotel, early schools, pioneer life, medicine, dolls, veterans’ memorabilia—and an expansive art gallery housing works by regional artists such as Louis and Elsie Freund, alongside a striking Carry A. Nation mural from the WPA era
